Making Composting at home with Bokashi and Worm Composting

March 25 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

$40

Have you struggled to make great compost on a small scale? In this class, you will learn why these two composting systems work together to make great small-batch compost that is easy, not smelly, and low-cost. Bokashi is an anaerobic process that ‘pickles’ food scraps, while worm composting relies on Eisenia fetida or worms to assist in the breakdown of food. We will see the whole process through–from food scraps to the bokashi bucket, into the worm bin, to harvesting the compost. We will also talk about the many ways to appropriately apply your homemade compost so that you are confident in using what you make at home!
