Using Your Ancestry to Manage Blood Sugars

In this class Melinda will demonstrate making a simple meal using the age-old standard American meal template of a protein, seasonal veggies, and a starch. For the menu we will be using the Co-op’s own rotisserie chicken, local potatoes and greens along with healing herbs and spices for you to sample in class. Vegetarian and vegan options will be discussed.

As a Registered Dietitian Specializing in Diabetes, Melinda Penny-Washington uses ancestry to return us back to our roots to heal using nutrition.

This class is designed for people living with prediabetes, diabetes, those who have a family history of diabetes and care for those living with diabetes.

About the Instructor: Melinda Penny-Washington RDN, CDCES — As a registered dietitian specializing in diabetes and ancestral wisdom and a guided meditation practitioner Melinda guides others in the understanding of what the body needs to heal, the connections between culture and health habits, and how to remove the subconscious blockers to achieve desired health outcomes.
